The Maintenance Technician 2 position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the Bonfiglioli's business goals and objectives.
The maintenance technician must respond quickly and effectively to any equipment downtime issue impeding productivity and efficiency for operations.
Key
Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks and actively promote compliance among production workers to minimize equipment downtime.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of production and facility equipment, including electrical, mechanical, PLC, servo, hydraulic, pneumatic, ABB robots, paint delivery systems, and VFD Drives.
Safety:
Ensure zero safety-related issues by strictly adhering to safety protocols, lock-out tag-out procedures, and other industrial safety precautions.
Problem Solving:
Utilize your troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve the root causes of equipment downtime on assembly and paint lines.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with process engineers and lead associates to develop line improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Technician Level 1 and other team members as needed.
Record Keeping:
Complete work orders, enter required paperwork into the computer system, and maintain an acceptable attendance record.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate Degree or completion of a craft apprenticeship, along with 4-6 years of related experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in advanced maintenance and electrician duties, an understanding of solid-state circuitry and various electrical systems, as well as the ability to use electrical schematics, diagnose problems with programmable controllers, and operate electrical testing and machining equipment.
Mechanical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to work with various hand and power tools, machining and fabrication skills (e.
g.
, welding, soldering, grinding, drill press, lathe, mill operation), and an advanced understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment.
Safety Awareness:
Deep understanding and respect for safety principles, including lock-out tag-out procedures and various industrial safety precaution methods.
Team Player:
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and interface with various contractors.
Problem Solving:
Quick response and decision-making skills when resolving equipment downtime issues.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
The ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds is required.
Vision:
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
Technical Aptitude:
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills for recording and tracking maintenance activities.
PLC Systems:
Basic understanding and knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley).
Instrumentation:
Familiarity with VFD Drives, Cognex, and Keyence cameras/scanners.
Equipment Operation:
Proficiency in using a variety of equipment, including Cincinnati Air Test Equipment.
